Bed Bugs Vs Carpet Beetle
Bed bugs and carpet beetles are both very small.
Bed bugs vs carpet beetle. They are also yellow and white in color and have a small tuft of hair on the back of the belly. The carpet beetle and bed bug not only leave similar looking bites but there are other similarities. Bed bugs feed on your blood and cause damage to your skin while beetles only cause to damage your belongings. For those of you who are a little bit more impatient i ll say that there are 5 main differences between carpet beetles and bed bugs.
Bed bug larvae look like little worms while carpet beetle larvae look like fuzzy bugs with little spines all over them. Varied carpet beetles do have brown on their backs but they look more spotted or striped with white and light colored patches mixed with brown. Larvae are covered in scaly yellow and white skin with yellowish bristly hair. They are usually smaller and are about an 1 8 of an inch in length fully grown.
A carpet beetle is very different from a bed bug in appearance. A major difference between bed bugs and carpet beetles is their diet. The main difference is the color. Bed bugs eat human blood and carpet beetle larvae feed on wool and animal based materials.
Bed bugs need a diet of blood to survive and breed throughout their development stages. Bed bugs are bigger and have flat bodies than bed bugs.
